 Acceptance

Acceptance, from the latin word "accipere" (to receive, to hear (of), to learn (of)) is a voluntary act. There is an active component, as opposed to the passive Toleration. Acceptance expresses an approving judgement and is therefore the opposite of Aversion.
Acceptance plays an important role in Religion, for example the word "Islam" can be translated into "acceptance". In Christianity Jesus is "accepted" as the Christ. It can even be compared to the Buddhist concept of "mindfulness" (meaning "awareness") which is of importance in the path to enlightenment.
